Lower Allen Township police were called by a mom who reported child endangerment on Aug. 21, 2021, at 11:50 p.m., the department said in a release.
Her 13-year-old daughter "had an inappropriate encounter with an adult male in their driveway," the woman told the police.
Joshua Potts, a 45-year-old hairstylist from Mechanicsburg, “contacted ‘his friend's' daughter via text message and requested for the two of them to meet” in the driveway the same day the police were called, according to the release.
The Bowie, Maryland native gave the girl a vape pen to smoke, and “unbeknownst to her, it contained marijuana,” police say.
During this encounter, Potts exited his vehicle to urinate and he asked the girl “if she wanted to see his penis,” as stated in the release.
The girl said “no”, left his car, and went inside her home, police learned during their investigation.
Following the incident, the girl started receiving texts from Potts— one stated that he "wanted to be her first," but then another text asked for her to delete the text messages, police say.
A warrant has been issued for Potts' arrest on charges of Corruption of Minors and Involuntary Assault- Person Less 16 Years of Age, according to court records.
His previous court records show a history of traffic-related charges, although his wife Jennifer Potts says he recently relapsed and has a history of issues with drugs and addiction, according to social media posts.
Five days after the incident in the girl’s driveway, his wife posted about his new face tattoo, so if you spot this wanted man he may look a bit different than the mugshot issued by the police.
Contact the police if you see Potts.
